I used to live the vagrant life, drifting around the country, looking for the next good time. Making the most irresponsible decisions, even for someone with mental issues. If I wasn’t on a bus somewhere between New Orleans and Seattle, I was living on the beach in Santa Monica, California, waiting tables at a restaurant on the pier.
Now days, instead of going out and partying, I rather stay home with my family which includes all my puppy babies. Even though they are adults, they still identify as puppies.
I learned from painting, when you are alone, a lot of the past comes up while I am creating something. Some of those thoughts are horrors that I had forgotten about all these decades. This reminds me to focus on the present, and finally acknowledge all those ghosts, because I am not afraid of them anymore.
